Art Deco Cherry Amber Beads engraving archive punctuated by two glistening oldStriking 'cherry amber' bead necklace dating from the Art Deco period, circa 1930. The beads display a rich, deep red colour and graduate in size from around 2. 5cm to just over 1cm at the ends where they fasten with an oversized bolt ring clasp. This type of bead, known as 'cherry amber' in the jewellery trade, is often in correctly sold as bakelite. Although both bakelite and cherry amber beads are a type of early phenolic plastic, bakelite is never
