18th Century Table Cut Half-Hoop Ring lapis Whilst maximalism was 19th centuryA rare Georgian half hoop ring built around a very old table cut diamond. Flanked by triplets of rose cut diamonds, the centre stone likely pre dates the ring by a century or two and it's rare to see one set in this type of ring. The diamonds are set over foil to enhance their brilliance, resting in gorgeous cut down 'pie crust' mounts. The band is crafted in 15 carat gold, and it dates from the latter half of the 18th century, circa 1780. Era:
