Passionately in love with Apollo, the sun god, he spent his days relaxing in the grass, listening to music and competing in friendly sports. One day they decided together to have a friendly discus throwing competition. Apollo threw first and had such power that the discus split the clouds in the sky. Hyakinthos, eager to get the disc back, ran after it to catch it.
