Vintage J&G Meakin Ceramic Saucer – Centenary Series Cutlery The item is a silver

The item is a silver plated serving dish with a rolled rim and the original silver plated lid fitted with handles and a gothic M monogram etched onto the surface

one by Barrets in 1975 and the other by Staffordshire Pottery in 1979

The lid as well as the trinket dish has gold trim around the edge

a scalloped silver plated clamm shell dish with crafted thumb tab handle

but otherwise in very good condition with no visible damages

J&G Meakin was founded in 18581, while Alfred Meakin wasset up in 1875. In 1968 J&G Meakin was taken over by the Midwinter Group which itself was taken over by the Wedgwood Group in 1970. In 2000 production under the J&G Meakin name ceased.
