Salvatore Ferrara came to Chicago from Italy at the turn of the twentieth century without possessions, but with a love of baking. He saved enough money as an interpreter to open a bakery in Little Italy. There, in 1932, the little cinnamon imperial candies connected to love were born. Red Hots were the first branded candy of what became the Ferrara
