When an aftermarket intake is installed, the factory airbox must be removed and that location becomes empty. The fairing rod is designed to keep the fairings intact and prevent flapping or damaged plastics. This works with almost tube intake style air filter modification that eliminates the airbox. Best using this with our DROWsports Carbon Fiber Intake!
