Bakelite Typewriter Ribbon Container / Ashtray German This is the most detailedPeriod (could be pre war or post) Rotaprint Bakelite typewriter ribbon container ashtray. A great piece of advertising, this piece has two functions. It was originally a container for typewriter ribbon but after the ribbon is used it becomes an ashtray. You are supposed to push through (break out) the center circle to create a hole for the ashes to fall into. The top can be unscrewed to clean it. The lid has instructions in German, English and French.
