Some may balance or just feel better than others solwood Regular member Joined Mar 15, 2008 Messages 3,171 #7 Not all reels come with spare spools so if that's important do check I don't own ninjas but they are nice reels some have shallower spools which is nice (not as shallow as old school reels) 4000 size shimano fighting drags can be quite heavy (I have gtm-rb) ans the spools are not as wide as some front drags, 3000 size shimano would be ideal for a float rod Daiwa sizing either 2508 or 3012 would work NJM2508A single handle would be my choice I use drennan fd3000 on twp float rods and a shakespeare mach2 xt 030 on another, happy with both and both are light Drennan have brought out a vertex reel it seemed okay to me Or go to lidl and buy a front drag 3000 crevit reel for 14.99 a bargain at that price
