I agree thats a good idea Yea I recycle mine after checking it every year and just rotate it so the old is the new backing I also believe that a lot of anglers get a false sense of security from braid and not checking it more like they should so when they have a Nick or cut it breaks just because its braid its still man made and isnt perfect its only as strong as the knot or if the line is free from cuts and abrasions thanks for all you do Great idea to reverse it Very helpful and great insight

Spinning reels are smart options for casting lightweight lures (especially on light lines), because they dont require as much inertia to get the line spooling off the reel

I will also use lures that have a natural ability to come through cover better like swim jigs and spinnerbaits, rather than treble hook lures

Alternatively, you can use braid and simply rig it on a softer rod to absorb some of the shock
